OREN HERCZ : Editor, Composer

Oren works as an editor, a location sound recordist, helps write and refine scripts, mixes audio, and composes music. He graduated with the Senate Medal from Carleton University where he studied Liberal Arts.

As a writer and sound recordist, Oren produced a radio piece on Carnaval in Oruro, Bolivia for CBC's Global Village. He wrote the music for our food rap E@ GUD FEEL GR8 which can be seen on You Tube. He also co-wrote the script for the musical Cabaret Civil about the famed FTAA protest in Quebec City. The play was performed in Wakefield Quebec to sold out audiences. Oren composed The Coffee Song for the musical, which was recorded and received significant radio play.

When not at Rooney Productions, Oren teaches piano, runs a rural Jewish education program, organizes the Wakefield Community Garden, and swims in the river. He also plays music in a mandolin orchestra as well as several other bands.

OREN UPDATE: Oren has taken flight. He headed off for the East Coast with our 25 year-old daughter, who went to study Fine Arts at NSCAD. His recently completed documentary short CHARLES' FARM is currently garnering interest on the Festival circuit.
